Agweek readers are a smart bunch, so maybe a lot of you have known for years about the Arctic Oscillation. But I confess that I hadn’t heard of it until this week, even though it can play a big role, both good and bad, in the region I’ve lived almost all my life.
I learned a little about the AO at the recent North Dakota Corn Growers Association’s Cornvention in Fargo, N.D., which I attended. The AO, it seems, has had a particularly big impact this winter on the region’s weather.
Read the story in the Feb. 27 issue of Agweek.
I’m surprised you hadn’t heard of it before now. The AO is a big deal up here. 🙂
