Rationalizing our way through winter

Winters on the Upper Midwest are almost always cold, and sometimes bitterly so. It’s just the way life is.

Many of us use little mental tricks to help us get through winter.. Sometimes our tricks, our rationalizations, are valid. Sometimes they’re not.

December isn’t always so bad. Yeah, January is cold, but we can tough it out. February is a short month. March can bring a few bad storms, but usually it’s not so bad.

I used all these tricks when I was a farm kid feeding livestock on bitterly cold winter days. I still use them even though I have an office job.

If you have little tricks of our own, drop me a line and let me know what they are.

As for me? I’m telling myself that January is almost over And then, you know, February is a short month … .
