On Thursday I attended part of the Northern Plains Potato Growers Association’s annual Field Day. The event, held at three sites in northeast North Dakota, highlights potato research at North Dakota State University. My article on the event will run on the Agweek web site and in our Aug. 26 print edition.
One of the people I visited with Thursday was Andy Robinson, NDSU and University of Minnesota Extension potato agronomist. I first met Andy in 2012, soon after he was hired for the post.
I was impressed then by Andy’s enthusiasm. I mentioned to him Thursday that he seems just as enthusiastic now. His reply: “I sure am. I help produce potatoes. I help grow food. What can be better or more important that that?”
Well said, Andy.
