It’s an old story in production agriculture: farmers and others involved in harvest need to take care of themselves, physically, mentally and emotionally. Pushing yourself too long and too hard is an easy trap to fall into at this time of year.
Agweek readers don’t need any sermons or lectures from me. But these basic reminders can’t hurt: Get enough sleep. Eat regularly, and healthy. Take occasional breaks to clear your head. Most of all, remember that even though harvest is important, it’s nowhere near as important as your health or your family.
