It’s been overshadowed by events in the western Dakotas and Washington, D.C., but the World Food Prize was awarded this week. It went to three researchers who played a prominent role in developing genetically modified food.
My point here isn’t to praise or condemn GMO food. Rather, I want to give a shout-out to all the ag scientists, both at home and overseas, who are helping to enhance food production. All of you know that you’re doing important work. The rest of us in ag may not always say it, but we know it, too.
