Like many Agweek readers, I hunted deer this fall. (On family land in North Dakota.) Through good fortune rather than skill, I filled my tag with a buck. Congratulations to other hunters who’ve shot their deer; good luck to those who haven’t.
Many farmers and ranchers are hunters; many are not. Sometimes farmers/ranchers and non-farming hunters are allies; sometimes they’re neutral parties, sometimes, sadly, they’re enemies.
Farmer/rancher and hunter relations can be complicated and controversial. I don’t pretend to have answers or solutions. But being allies surely is better than being enemies.
